Winter Weather Predictions For 2012

Winter Weather Predictions For 2012

Winter weather predictions for 2012 suggest a snowy and cold winter pattern for the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes region. Cities such as Chicago and Milwaukee could caress bitterly cold temperatures at times with above median snowfall. The West Coast could see slightly below median temperatures with above median precipitation. Western states such as Nevada, Utah and Arizona and the middle sections of the country are forecast to caress a near general winter weather pattern. In the southern half of the Us states such as Texas which are experiencing record breaking droughts are foreseen, for the most part to have above general temperatures and below general precipitation. The East Coast should see a more general winter weather scenario. Floridians should see a relatively dry winter with mild temperatures.

Winter Weather Predictions For 2012

There are many different factors and conditions affecting the weather that must be interpreted before a long range forecast can be issued. As these factors and conditions change adjustments must be made in the forecast to accurately reflect this. One of the biggest influences over this years winter weather appears to be La Nina. A stronger La Nina ordinarily suggests less precipitation and warmer climatic characteristic for the southern U.S. And colder temperatures and more precipitation in the form of snow over the northern parts of the U.S. Including the Great Lakes region and the Pacific Northwest. This is in line with current winter weather predictions for 2012.

The many factor that influences the weather is of policy where you live. Other factors which you have no control over but which influence the weather where you live include the miniature know but very leading Arctic Oscillation, major volcanic eruptions and solar operation just to name a few. The Arctic Oscillation which measures air pressure variances has turned negative which means a greater opportunity for cold air to enter the United States from Canada. While leading in developing a weather forecast strong Arctic Oscillations can be difficult to forecast to far in advance. While there is still much turn over in the scientific society some believe that solar flares and sunspots influence our weather here on earth. Ash and dust introduced into the atmosphere by volcanic eruptions can lower the earths covering temperatures by reducing the number of sunlight that reaches the earth. There are many other variables in producing the weather you experience.

While you cannot control the weather you can be prepared for it. Listen to your local forecast when threatening weather is potential especially if you are planning on travelling. Have a accident kit in your car at all times and use coarse sense before heading out into inclement weather.

Weather - What is a Warm Front?

Weather - What is a Warm Front?

Answering what is a warm front depends on knowing cold fronts. Under general circumstances warm air cannot displace a mass of cold air. Masses of cold air are often called cold fronts and are often denser than warm air. Since the two types of air have distinct densities and temperatures, they also cannot mix. What normally happens when there is a cold front is that warm air is displaced and moves over the cold air. This is because warm air is lighter. Once there, warm air will grow cooler and form into clouds.

In some cases, cold fronts will not cause any considerable weather changes. If there is enough moisture however, cold fronts can lead to rain showers and thunderstorms that can last for weeks. Severe storms can even be accompanied by floods and tornadoes. Floods in singular do not fast dissipate because cold fronts take some time to pass through.

So what is a warm front? They are simply what cold fronts are not. Warm fronts are the front portions of warm masses of air that move in to replace preceding cool air. As expected, air in front of the warm air mass is cooler than air behind warm fronts. In weather maps, it is represented by solid lines with semi circles or rounded lumps attached to the front of the lines. This is opposed to solid lines with pointed triangles that recite cold fronts.

Unlike cold fronts, warm fronts are not typically linked with devastation. This and other warm air mass conditions put warm fronts in stark unlikeness to cold fronts. The following are what you would expect when a warm air mass approaches or passes:

o Temperature conditions while warm fronts are opposite of that while cold fronts. Before a warm front passes, the temperature is noticeably cooler. If you are directly in line as a warm air mass passes, you will notice a quick convert in temperature towards warmer levels.
o Cold fronts may lead to strong showers. Warm fronts any way are typically accompanied only by light showers and drizzling especially as the warm front passes. Despite the drizzle though, surroundings can still feel more humid.
o Winds in the southern hemisphere will blow north to northeast. Those in the northern hemisphere will blow south to southeast. As the warm air mass passes, the direction of the winds will shift.
o Visibility as a warm front passes will be poor and hazy. Sometimes, fog can also form near the ground.
o Atmospheric pressure while the duct of warm fronts will fall and then rise and then fall again after it passes.

Wireless Weather station Reviews

A wireless weather station is a standalone theory that keeps a track of the indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, wind direction and velocity, solar intensity and rainfall. It gives you the ease to keep a track of the exterior weather, without the need of remaining glued to your Tv sets or radio to know about the weather forecast. A wireless weather theory saves you from the hassles of connecting and managing wires while using the instrument.
